P5/6 GENERAL INFORMATION

You will need:

2 sharpened pencils, a white rubber, a 30cm ruler, a sharpener, a pritt stick.

PE Clothing: tracksuit bottoms, trainers, t-shirt should be brought to school in a drawstring bag ONLY (space is restricted). This should be brought to school on Monday and left until Friday.

Reading (Monday-Thursday)

Reading should be completed each evening. Discuss with your child what they have read and any vocabulary that is new to them. Guided reading will take place in school.

Spellings (Monday – Thursday)

Spellings should be written out 5 times each and the meaning discussed Monday to Wednesday. On Thursday evening revise the week’s spellings for a test. Once a month dictation will be given to ensure retention of previously learned words.

Written Homework (Monday to Thursday)

Homework will be written into homework diary each morning. It is your child’s responsibility to write it down quickly, clearly and accurately. Please ensure your child is in class before the bell in the morning to allow this to be done. Each homework should have the FULL DATE, be completed neatly and accurately, and signed by an adult.

From time to time children will be given a learning, research or talking and listening homework.

This should also be completed to the normal high standards.

Books should be backed on or before Monday 3^rd September 2018.

ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING AND STATIONARY SHOULD BE LABELLED CLEARLY.
